1944 A-26B Invader C-GWLT Offered For Sale

A 1944 Douglas A-26B Invader (S/N 44-34778 C-GWLT) has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

This Douglas Invader was delivered to the U.S. Navy and designated as a JD-1D. Its first civilian owner was Raytheon who used them for radar and missile systems testing. In 1974 it was sold to Airspray in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada who operated it as Tanker 98. In 2006 it was sold to its current owner.

The airframe has reportedly amassed 4438.2 hrs TTSN while the two Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engines have 0 SMOH and 1059.5 SMOH. The machine is located in Manitoba, Canada and is currently being offered for $350,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.

Pietenpol Air Camper Project/Parts Machine Offered For Sale

An example of the extremely popular Pietenpol Air Camper, a homebuilt aircraft originally introduced in 1928, has hit the market as a project/parts machine. The listing states (in part):

Damaged 2015 Pietenpol Air Camper with 92hrs TT; engine, propeller, and the engine mount are not included. Skin removed from the lower portions of the wings and portion of the fuselage for inspection. To my best knowledge the damages are limited to: lower cowling, landing gear legs, landing gear bracket, left wing – minor damage to the 1 rib (during aircraft transport), right wing – 2 ribs, 1 wing strut – slightly bent.

Currently a single seater with removable long range ferry tank. Based Shobdon. TTSN 125 hours; a fully sorted aircraft. 35-40 l/hr at moderate rpm and 165 – 170 mph cruise. Great air display machine with highly impressive ROC. Endurance 4.5 hrs. Whirlwind C/S prop, authentic look and feel including cockpit area. Easy flight and ground handling characteristics. Douglas C-47A D-Day and Market Garden Veteran Offered For Sale

A 1944 Douglas C-47A / DC-3C D-Day and Market Garden veteran has hit the market.

This C-47A-5-DK was reportedly built in January 1944 by Douglas Aircraft Company at their plant in Oklahoma City and has the manufacturer serial number 12253 and tail number 42-92451. It was assigned by the USAAF on January 24, 1944, and was taken on charge by the Royal Air Force (RAF) at Dorval, Montreal, QC on February 4th 1944. It received RAF registration FZ668 and was ferried to England and assigned to 271 Squadron.

The listing states (in part):

Aircraft condition: Project, not airworthy, sold as is and without warranty. The aircraft is sold without engines / propellers / instruments / seats / elevators. Airframe: 43354 hours. No logbook but enough documents to get a new one issued. Airframe is in good condition and can be restored to airworthy condition. The buyer must pay a non refundable $750 deposit within 48h after the end of the auction.

For sale is my full scale replica of a 1918 WWI Sopwith Camel fighter. This aircraft is currently under going flight testing and is one of only two Camels known to be flying in Australia. No expense has been spared on this build which has taken over 3 x years to complete, paint scheme is based on the famous WW1 Canadian camel ace Donald McLaren, engine is a brand new 150hp 9 x cylinder Rotec radial fitted with a 90″ wooden culver prop and comes complete with replica Vickers machine guns and a cane wicker seat, this would have to be one of the closest replica’s of this famous British WW1 fighter in Australia.
