Rare, “Museum Quality” WW1 Bentley BR2 Rotary Engine Offered For Sale

A rare example of the Bentley BR2 WW1 rotary engine, a type used to power aircraft such as the Sopwith Snipe and Salamander (pictured above), is available for sale.

According to the listing, the engine carries serial 101701 and has two PLR Magnetos and an oil pump and is in museum quality condition. It is reportedly presented on an engine stand with a cut away section on one of the cylinders. An internal inspection revealed that two pistons with con rods have been removed.
