1942 Aeronca Defender Project For Sale: “Airframe Solid, No Rust, Stored Dry”

A 1942 Aeronca L3E Defender projecy has been spotted for sale. The listing states:

For Sale, N39366; 1942 Aeronca L3E Defender 65TAF Project. This was a beautiful flying example of a war bird. Manufactured in 1942, the first round of Aeronca’s impressed during the war, few remain. Sadly, it suffered a ground loop. It damaged one wing, the wing tip and easily repairable with my jig that goes to the purchaser. A few fuselage tubes have slight bends to something more. One landing gear case frame was damaged and one strut. The engine mount is good, the wheels undamaged, the tail feathers all good. The entire airframe is solid, no rust or areas of pitting. In fact, the green epoxy primer is in very nice shape throughout this project. It includes log book, the data plates, an airworthiness and chain of bills of sale and other paperwork. It appears to have all the small and hard to find items. I have an extensive photo collection. I had planned to restore it but I need to buy a new truck. Stored high and dry, as it has been from its restoration, its a great undertaking and a rare and inexpensive warbird. There are some extras. You wont be disappointed.

The project is located in Easton, Pennsylvania and is currently available for US $5,300. Click here to check out the listing on eBay.
