A “superb” example of a Me 109 fuselage assembly jig, which was reportedly used to construct three airworthy examples of the type, has hit the market. The listing states (in part):
Made of steel, aluminum, and wood, this is an AMAZING example! Built in 2017, it was made to EXACT factory specs, and can be used to assemble/build an Me109 Fighter Aircraft Fuselage, from firewall to tail! To-date, this jig has been used to complete a total of THREE airworthy fuselages, for both private and museum projects throughout the world. It was also constructed to be easily disassembled and transported. One of the airworthy fuselages built using this jig is shown in the photos. Please note that the fuselage shown in the auction photos are NOT part of the auction! You are bidding on the assembly jig only… HIGHLY difficult to construct, this jig would be a PERFECT addition to any project needing to assemble their Me109!
The listing also notes that “one complete and airworthy fuselage” built in the jig is also available. The jig is located in Canada and is currently being offered for US $18,999.99, although offers are also being accepted. Click here to check out the complete listing on eBay.
