A Lockheed TF-104G Starfighter project has hit the market.
The aircraft (S/N D-5810) is described as a two seat training model manufactured in 1963 which spent its entire career in service with the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) until retirement in 1984. The listing states (in part):
The project includes what is believed to be a “0” time General Electric J-79-11F (no logs) and afterburner (in container). The engine was removed from the storage container and run up on a test stand to approximately 80% power in 2016. The project includes an extensive spare parts inventory which includes a brand-new set of wings. The aircraft is nearly 100% complete and in stock military condition with the exception of the clocks and stop watches.
The machine has reportedly received gradual restoration over the last few years and includes “a very extensive technical library,” ground support equipment, and one pair of wingtip fuel tanks / underwing pylons. It is located in Maine and is currently being offered for $325,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.
