Tamiya has announced the upcoming release of a Korean War version of their 1/32 scale P-51D Mustang model kit later this month.
The F-51D model kit (60328) will reportedly measure 308mm and span 354mm and include display options for flight or ground configuration with magnet-attached engine cowls and tail wheel. Details reportedly include new parts depicting slitted fuselage side radiator access panel; individual parts for machine gun ammunition belts; underbelly radiators with depiction of interior structure and moving parts for radiator and oil cooler flaps. The kit’s ailerons, rudder and elevators also move and use metal shafts and photo-etched parts, while the flaps are movable with the use of poly caps.
Options reportedly include seated and standing pilot figures, parts for six 5-inch HVAR rockets, a choice of SCR-522 transceiver with BC-453B receiver, and new AN/ARC-3 transceiver set – each with dedicated cockpit parts. Three marking options are also included (two U.S. and one Korean).
The MSRP will be $198 with an expected release date of April 11. Click below to check out additional pictures.
