A 1948 Ryan Navion project has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):
1948 Ryan Navion, 3600 TT, 92 SMOH E-225, beautiful in and out, needs wing, cheap!… The engine was given a major overhaul in 2001, with brand new cyinders and a brand new camshaft, as well as everything else being overhauled!… The Hartzell constant speed prop was disassembled and inspected in 2018 and has only 3 hours on it, because of the “incident”. On approach to land into his home strip, the pilot, who is older than the airplane, misjudged the sink rate and the airplane hit treetops on it’s way to a successful wheels landing. The damage was to the wing outer panels, the nosebowl, 1 blade of the prop, and a tweak to the bottom cowl and a ding to the top cowl… Sold with logbooks for the engine since before the 2001 major, for the airframe since 1991 and for the prop since the 1991 and FAA bill of sale
The project is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is currently being offered for US $8,950, although bids are also being accepted. Click here to check out the complete listing on eBay, which includes many additional details and photos.
