A 1938 Taylorcraft BC project has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):
A great restoration project, already started. This 2 place, high wing pre War version of the Popular Taylorcraft series. Wings have been removed and fabric removed to facilitate restoration. A few of the outboard metal ribs show corrosion damage and replacements have been purchased and included. There are also several hinges and brackets and linkage that has been purchased, just in case needed. There are more than you will need to make necessary rib repairs. The tail flying surfaces have been removed, fabric removed and the parts bead blasted. Most have been primed? The very dark interior picture is only to show that the fuselage structure had been chromated and appears in good shape. No fabric has been removed from the fuselage. Included with this great project is the engine Mount and more importantly the engine exhaust tubes and the valuable muffler. There is no Motor or Propeller. The interior is complete with bench seat and dual control wheels. The instrument panel is complete. The cabin side windows and windscreen show their age and likely would have to be replaced. All are either flat stock or available from aircraft parts manufacturers. There are 2 log books showing 1619 TTAF. Last Annual was 1988. The project is currently registered and has an Airworthiness Certificate.
The project is located near Florence SC and is currently available for bidding. Click here to check out the listing on eBay, which includes a number of additional photos.
