P-51D “Ferocious Frankie” Offered For Sale

P-51D Mustang G-BTCD S/N 44-73149 “Ferocious Frankie” has reportedly hit the market.

The aircraft is said to be powered by a 1315 hp Packard Merlin V-1650-7 that has amassed 63 hrs since being overhauled in 2013 by Eye Tech Engineering. The airframe has flown a total of 1,880 hrs since new.

According to Mustangs Mustangs, the machine served with US training units in 1945 before being delivered to the RCAF. In subsequent years it was associated with The Fighter Collection and the Old Flying Machine Company before being repainted in its current livery in 2002.
